Since the fire...
Some of you may know that BAR had a fire not too long ago. The back room was pretty badly burned and the rest had water damage, but that hasn't stopped BAR from reopening better than ever. Sunday nights is still home to the best local band showcase I know of, with free cover usually. The weekends are PACKED with Yalies, SCSU kids, and Quinnipiac students who make the back room a nightmare. My advice is to stay in the other two bar areas and chill rather than get manhandled by drunken college kids. The pizza is some of the best around, but whats even better is the HOME BREWED BEERS and cafe patron (you have to ask for it). And Tuesday night is BOOM@BAR (gay night). - Joanna , posted 03/04/06

BAR nice
One of last cool bars in CT. Usually NO COVER, good food and beer, and a lovely mix of personalities. - Unsubscribed , posted 10/27/05

free music sunday nights, fresh brewskies and pizza
A thoughtfully designed award-winning space. BAR has a restaurant section, a bar area with tables and a pool table as well as stools, and a back room with candle-lit couch nooks, a stage that hosts live bands and weekly dance club events. Eat some very good thin-crust brick-oven pizza, listen to hip bands for free on Sunday nights, and wash it all down with a pint of one of BAR's home brews. More info. on the website. - Unsubscribed , posted 07/29/05
